25 years ago today, Hee, Im Chae, now known as Emily Nicole Dykhouse Kloosterman, arrived at the Detroit Metropolitan airport. She was 7 1/2 months old. She had a rough few months of adjusting, and then ear infections, but after that all was well. She has always been such a joy (well, may with the exception of the year 2002!!) and I am forever grateful that God chose to place her in our home.
Emily's arrival in Detroit
Last year, on the same date (April 28), we arrived home from Hong Kong with Seun, Lai Lai, now known as Laiya Joy Lubben. She had just turned 14. What an amazing year it has been. She has come so far in such a short time. She is doing very well in school (all A's and A-'s), plays the piano, sings in the school choir, went to GEMS and catechism, and spends lots of time doing homework. She really enjoys her large family.
Laiya's arrival in Grand Rapids
Emily and Laiya are really good friends, even though there are 10 years between them in age. Sisters
Tonight we went out to celebrate and papa got all 3 kids on his lap. What fun!
So much to be thankful for!!
