Laiya is an official citizen of the USA!!

Today we went to the Coast Guard station in Grand Haven for a ceremony for 14-18 year olds to become citizens of the US. It was a very nice ceremony. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, who became a citizen at age 9, was there to talk to us, too. I think this is the last of the ceremonies and paperwork! Afterwards, we picked up lunch and ate it on the beach. We got to show Laiya where Dave use to work and where we had our first date. Then, to top it off, we saw ourselves on the 5:30 news - they showed Laiya signing her certificate, shaking Rep. Hoekstra's hand, and the three of us, plus they interviewed us! It was quite a day!

We love you!
