Our journey began on Father's Day, June 18, 2006, when Dave and I both spotted the picture of 13 year old Suen, Lai Lai, fron Hong Kong, in Bethany's Lifelines Magazine. Within a few days, the paperwork was started and we soon received word that we were pre-approved to adopt her! Lai Lai has been in foster care since she was 6 years old and has been asking for a "forever family" to love her. Currently our paperwork is in the hands of ISS in Hong Kong, so all we can do is wait! We made a DVD and picture album to introduce Laiya (that's what we have changed her name to) to her new (large) family and she should be receiving these any day now. Our social worker has told us to plan on traveling in February, but we are hoping that it will be sooner than that. We will keep you informed on our progress and ask for your prayers, especially for Laiya, as she will be leaving everyone and everything she has ever known to come to a new country, and to live with a new family that she has never even met. Pray that the wait will be short and the adjustment smooth. Thank you!
