We're getting closer . . .

Well, the legal documents FINALLY arrived from Hong Kong (only about 2 months later than we expected them). They have now been sent off to Lansing, will then go to the courts in Kent County, and then back to Hong Kong to get Laiya's visa so she can travel to the U.S.! We had hoped she'd be here to join us on our family cruise (March 17-22), but that's not going to happen. Our social worker did say she could be here by her birthday though, and that's April 3! If that's the case, we will be doing a lot of traveling next month - but that's okay!! Please continue to pray for Laiya as she realizes that life as she knows it is about to end - she will leave the family she has lived with for six years, her two sisters, her friends, her school, and her home, to come to a new country, a new home, a new school, and become part of a new family. We are so thankful that she WANTS to make this change! We're also thankful that her English is as good as it is (because our Cantonese is a little rusty!). Hopefully we'll have more updates real soon. Marva
